Summer Is Almost Here!

Summer time is upon us and here at Whisper Ridge, we are getting busy. We have just recently released three new wines. A dry Semillon, a late harvest Semillon- Sauvignon blanc, and lastly our first Syrah. All three have been very well received, allowing us to finally sleep well at night.

The cold days seem to be behind us now and the vines are growing. It seems as though we are going to have yet another cool growing season. We are working closely with our growers to make sure crops are light enough to ripen in this recent cold spell. We are quite fortunate in that most of our vineyard sourcing is on higher elevation ground. This allows for a bit of an extended growing season. When everybody down in the lower lying areas freeze. We are still quite a bit warmer. This lets us hang our grapes longer.

We want to thank all of you who came out to see us at Taste Washington! We had a blast. The wines were incredible as was the food. The turn-out was exceptional considering these difficult economic times. You all rock. Thanks for your support!!

We have an upcoming tasting at Cascade Wine Co. in Yakima June 13th. We will be pouring all of our current wines. Hope to see you there!

As you might notice. The website is still slightly under construction. We are working on it! As of right now you can place orders for our wine on our website however, the shipping cost calculater is still giving us a hard time. So if you order wine from us we may need to give you a call and figure out shipping. Also, if you are local (Yakima area) we are working on a way to disable shipping costs so we can deliver direct to you at no extra cost.

I hope all is well for you and yours,

Bill Mechem

Winemaker
