Spring has sprung!
Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 10:57AM Whew! Where has the time gone? Obviously keeping a blog up to date is not my fortay. A lot has happened since my last post. Winter has passed by us rapidly and the warm eastern Washington weather is upon us. Fruit trees have begun to bloom and the valley is looking more and more beautiful every day!
Currently I am working on two new wines. Our first Rose, made with Rhone varietals, is tasting like it is going to be a great acoutremant to spring weather. We also managed to pull off an Ice Wine this winter. made from the same Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes that went into our last late harvest bottling in 2008. It's sweet, smells like peaches and is begging to be put into bottles. Of course we are also going to be bottling our Semillon soon and our new Syrah will be ready shortly. This year the Syrah will be coming from a different vineyard as our regular Syrah block was pulled out to make room for Pinot gris. The vineyard we are now sourcing our Syrah from is near Vantage and is very promising. I'm definately looking forward to working with this vineyard for many years to come.
